International Dinner

The ones of you, that are hungry should not keep on reading this post! 😀 There are many tasty meals you can see here, which were served at an international dinner. This dinner was organised for international students and basically everybody was presenting his country by a self-cooked meal. As you can imagine there were a lot of nice things to try. My flatmate Cristian made rumanian Papanasi, which have been really tasty. Basically these are deep-fried dough curls served with cream and sour jam. But apart from that we were able to try everything from pakistani, japanese to turkish and french food. Have a look:

But the most awesome thing on this evening was … *drum rolling* the Mainzer cuisine. For those who do not know: I was born and raised in this sweet city. Surprisingly also here in Tampere i found another guy from Mainz, who did some really traditional thing. It is called Spundekäs and consists of cheese cream, curd, pepper, salt and paprika powder. It’s basically made for dipping pretzel into it and is by far the most awesome side dish in my world! 😉 Since Kai made a bucket full of Spundekäs and a lot of it was left after the international Dinner, i was able to take home the half of it. The next two days have just been amazing! 😀 Thanks for that, Kai! Since i already met another guy from my Mainz in my first Erasmus (Gregor) i would have never guessed to meet another one here in Tampere! Amazing. Your René.
