Cape Wrath Trail (Day 2)

Heja! This is the continuation of our hike in Scotland, which has started with Cape Wrath Trail Day 1. As promised I will let the pictures speak for themselves this time. I would really appreciate to receive your opinion about this form of blog post. Let me know whether you like it or if there is anything to improve!

After opening our tents the next morning we had this beautiful foggy landscape in front of ourselves.

The night was really nice and in terms of wetness from below even better than our expectations.

The landscape shrouded in fog was really good-looking and as soon we had cleaned our plates and packed the gear we started hiking again.

This was the valley we were camping at. The fog was gone soon since the sun offered some descent temperatures.

After gaining some altitude we went down to the next valley. The path was a small stream and we saw puddles everywhere! Hurrah for hiking boots.

The weather on that day was simply stunning. After noon we arrived to our resting place …
... in Glenfinnan close to the Glennfinnan Monument we got rewarded with this amazing view on Loch Shiel!

We passed by a hut, which are called "Bothy" in Scotland. Actually we thought about staying the night here but decided to make a bit more progress that day.

The distance we hiked in combination with the elevation we gained made us tired and the time for searching a camp site came

So, who detects our ingeniously placed tents? Even the ground was dry. This is how it could keep going on, right?

... we climbed the hill next to our tents and enjoyed the sunset.

That was an amazing day with a perfect finish.

It was getting darker and darker and we left the hill and went back to our tents.

... and it did not take much time until we peacefully and exhausted fell to sleep.

The day could not be any better and we were able to fall asleep with an awesome view. However, the choice of the camp site turned out to be a big problem in the end. Why? … you will find out in the next blog post. DerRené.
